Manifesto Quest ⚔️

Abstract paint splatter — teals, purples, ambers colliding

The Thesis

1

the stories we tell about ourselves and the world become self-fulfilling prophecies

2

too many of us are building lives, companies, futures in the quicksand of stories that no longer serve us

3

humanity’s most profound gift is not raw intelligence, but our capacity to dream, speak, and live new stories

4

writing a manifesto uproots old stories, and plants the seeds of new narratives that can bring us back to life

5

choosing to live into a new story, amidst a culture clinging to the old, is the most courageous thing a human can do

6

a manifesto, paired with earnest effort to live its story, ripples into the wider world, evolving the narrative fabric that binds humanity together

Again and again Someone in the crowd wakes up. He has no ground in the crowd And he emerges according to broader laws. He carries strange customs with him And demands room for bold gestures. The future speaks ruthlessly through him.

— Rainer Maria Rilke

“the universe is made of stories, not of atoms.”

— Muriel Rukeyser

The Quest

I, Rob Hardy, will not cease until I have fulfilled my covenant to write 100 manifestos. For that is how I will live, refine, and embody the thesis myself.

Along the way, I will assist my homies, rad startups, and noble causes in the creation of their own manifestos. Let's create mischief together.
