Hi, my name is Rob and I have embarked upon a…
Manifesto Quest ⚔️
the thesis
- the stories we tell about ourselves and the world become self-fulfilling prophecies
- too many of us are building lives, companies, futures in the quicksand of stories that no longer serve us
- humanity’s most profound gift is not raw intelligence, but our capacity to dream, speak, and live new stories
- writing a manifesto uproots old stories, and plants the seeds of new narratives that can bring us back to life
- choosing to live into a new story, amidst a culture clinging to the old, is the most courageous thing a human can do
- a manifesto, paired with earnest effort to live its story, ripples into the wider world, evolving the narrative fabric that binds humanity together
“the universe is made of stories, not of atoms.” -muriel rukeyser
the quest
I, Rob Hardy, will not cease until I have fulfilled my covenant to write 100 manifestos. For that is how I will live, refine, and embody the thesis myself.
Along the way, I will assist my homies, rad startups, and noble causes in the creation of their own manifestos.
Let’s create mischief together.
current quest status: 23 manifestos written, 77 to go
What I’m working on now (Oct 2025)
- a manifesto for a collective of founders, technologists, and VCs who are plotting a humanistic alternative to big tech
- a sequel to the ungated manifesto that will only be available as a printed artifact. no digital copies will ever exist.
- 1-on-1 sparring sessions where I help you write a six-sentence personal manifesto in an hour
- a better way to keep track of/display the manifestos i’ve written
“the purpose of writing a manifesto is to launch yourself into a quest, the trials and tribulations of which will temper your soul and help you cultivate the courage, grace, and genuine leadership we so desperately need in this chaotic world, bro” -me, when the uber driver asks for directions
